This module is the equivalent of 10 credits from the first year of our MA in Integrative Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy. Suitably qualified therapists who meet the entry requirements have the option to progress onto the MA should they wish to do so.
The purpose of this module is to provide learners with the skills, knowledge, and competencies to employ play, creative and expressive interventions in work with children and adolescents. Learners will be able to intervene, utilizing creative methods, applying it to clinical work in a real-world setting. Learners who wish to obtain the CPD Certificate and the Certificate of Credits obtained will be required to write an assignment.
Those eligible to apply are practising therapists who hold either an honours degree, Level 8 on The National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ), in counselling and psychotherapy, or equivalent. Or an honours degree, Level 8 on the NFQ, plus a professional diploma in counselling and psychotherapy that meets with IACP/IAHIP course recognition standards (or equivalent). The diploma must have counselling and psychotherapy at its core.
Learners who wish to obtain the college certificate of credits will have to submit the assignment. Learners who just wish to obtain the CPD Certificate will be issued with this upon completion of the final assignment.
The course will be delivered onsite (3 days) in our Tallaght Campus and online (1 day).
