What is IELTS?:  IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is an English language test for higher education and global migration.  It measures the ability to communicate in English across four language skills: listening, reading, writing and speaking. It is designed for people who intend to study or work in countries where English is the main language of communication. Language skills are assessed on a scale ranging from 0 (non-user) to 9 (expert user).

IELTS tests are held at various centres throughout the country, including UCD’s Belfield campus in Dublin 4 (https://www.ucd.ie/alc/exams/newielts/whatisielts/ ) or at dedicated IELTS centres such as entre of English Studies (CES) IELTS Test Centre

Which module should I choose?

There are two types of IELTS test: IELTS Academic and IELTS General Training. IELTS Academic is for test takers who wish to study at university at undergraduate or post graduate level, and for those seeking professional registration. Those who wish to apply for entry to  IICP College should ensure that they take the IELTS Academic test.
