Introduction

Bereavement & loss can have a significant bearing on both children and adolescents’ well-being and those supporting around them. Children grieve over their lifespan; thus, a developmental lens is vital. Over the one day, this introductory workshop will provide the learner with an understanding, of the topic ‘Children’s Bereavement & Loss’, with a strong emphasis on equipping the learner with a toolbox of resources to enhance their clinical practice.

The course will cover:

  • Considering theories of Childrens loss & Bereavement.
  • The impact of Bereavement & Loss on children and adolescents.
  • Loss and the developmental considerations.
  • An exploration of Parental Separation.
  • Working creatively with loss
  • Supporting and resourcing those during times of loss.

Jade holds a MA Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy with Children and adolescents, BA Hons Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy, Dip in Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy, Certificate in Family therapy, Post grad Cert in Children Loss, Diploma in Supervision, post grad Certificate in teaching & learning. Jade is a fully accredited with MIACP and a highly experienced psychotherapist and supervisor. Jade runs a busy private practise in Westmeath, providing counselling and psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and adults. Jade works mainly in domestic violence, suicide prevention and bereavement and loss. Jade works as an Integrative therapist, integrating approaches of Person-centred, choice theory and creative approaches. Jade is a research supervisor and a member of the faculty, teaching on various in IICP.
