Introduction

As research reports that approximately half of clients have Sensory Processing Sensitivity, this workshop will be invaluable for therapists. In this workshop you will learn how to identify clients who have the high sensitivity trait, the neurological differences of this trait, and the essential components for working therapeutically with a client with high sensitivity.

Course Content:

In this one day introductory workshop, participants will:

  • Increase your understanding of neurodiversity in clients
  • Explore any biases and blocks to your therapeutic work with neurodiverse clients
  • Learn effective and evidenced based strategies for working therapeutically with Sensory Processing Sensitivity
  • Learn how to embody and integrate the strategies delivered to deepen your own personal
    development

  • This course is suited for Counsellors, psychotherapists, psychologists and therapists-in-training who want to learn more about the subject area.

About the Programme Facilitator

Donna Bacon
Donna Bacon M.Sc Clinical Psychology, B.A. Psychology (Hons), Dip Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy.
Donna’s therapeutic expertise with the nervous system and neurodiversity began 16 years ago while working with individuals suffering with anxiety disorders. Her clinical experience and training developed while working with children, adults, and families in the field of developmental and intellectual disabilities as well as those struggling with addiction and trauma. After years of running her own clinical practise, she founded Sensitively Strong. Within this service, Donna supports highly sensitive people and those struggling with issues related to their nervous system through consultations, courses/workshops, and an online community.
